Important notes for use with the products SBi Motus, Frame and W-Heel
Optima Molliter S.r.l. declares that SBI walkers are medical devices conceived and designed following the current state of the art, and have been tested to be in compliance with the Regulation EU 2017/745 in its applicable sections. Optima Molliter walkers are in compliance with the International Guidelines of the IWGDF for the management of the diabetic foot ulcerations. https://igdfguidelines.org/guidelines/guidelines. Nevertheless, bear in mind that inappropriate use of the product or underestimation of resulting dangers can cause injuries or harm. Read the following instructions carefully and thoroughly before using any BI products. They must be correctly used to be effective. Frequently check that no hot spots and irritation appear on the skin. If skin changes or an uncomfortable feeling when wearing are noticed, the hook and loop fasteners must be readjusted. Do not use these devices if there is a decreased sensitivity resulting from anaesthetic administration. It is advisable not to use the medical device directly on the skin, always cover the foot with bandages or sock. Pay utmost care when walking if there are liquids or slippery substances on the floor. Never walk without the walker sole. The product should be released and used only on medical prescription or on the advice of a licensed healthcare worker. The 3×3 KIT multilayer insoles (standard on BI Motus and SBI WHeel), the monolayer insole (standard on BI Frame) and the PLTM insole need to be handled exclusively by specialized operators (doctor or licensed healthcare worker).
The instructions for care and storage must be observed.
It is highly recommended to wear a contralateral protective shoe on the foot without lesions with the same height of the outsole of the device (p.ex. YDA – www. yda.it or protective shoe MAC – www.optimamolliter.com).
Pay utmost care when walking if there are liquids or slippery substances on the floor.
The orthosis is not a tool or toy and must not be used as such!
Driving is not recommended when wearing a Motus, Frame and W-Heel orthosis.
Keep away from heat sources.
Ensure that all fasteners of the orthosis are firmly closed before using the orthosis for walking.
Ensure that the sole is firmly attached to the orthosis before using the orthosis for walking. The product corresponds to the state of the art, which is based on current technical and scientific knowledge. The manufacturer Optima Molliter S.r.i. shall not be held liable if the product is used under conditions listed below as improper use.

IMPROPER USE
Failure to comply with the therapeutic indications / failure to comply with the rules and instructions of the manufacturer / non-compliance with or use contrary to current safety standards / significant alteration of dimensions and shape / significant alteration of the structure by changing-adding items / use product to practice sports, even if not extensive/ use of unsuitable cleaning products / use the product like a tool or like a toy / unsuitable storage / driving automobiles while wearing BI products / device components are assembled/disassembled by non-qualified personnel / failure to comply with assembly or disassembly instructions / walking without the BI outsole.
